Principal´s Message

Let me start by saying thank you for taking the time to read Principal’s Place and welcome to Sodt Elementary!  My name is Tara Roe and I have taught within the Jefferson School District for 12 years.  I am currently the Interim Principal of Sodt Elementary.

I am a graduate of the University of Toledo where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University, Ann Arbor.

While being lucky enough to work for Jefferson Schools I have taught Young 5’s, 1st grade, and 4th grade, but have spent the last nine years in kindergarten and have LOVED every minute of it.  I have been in my current role since March of 2018.  I can genuinely say that the staff and teachers at Sodt are truly some of the most compassionate, dedicated, and driven individuals that I have ever worked with.  Here at Sodt, we work as a team to guarantee success for all of our young learners.  One of our biggest points of pride at Sodt is that we are a Leader in Me school; one of only two schools in all of Monroe County.  We are devoted to teach not only academics but life skills through the 7 Habits of Happy Kids to ensure success in all areas of learning to support the whole child.

If you are interested in learning more about Leader in Me or our building, I would be thrilled to speak with you.  Please feel free to call our office with any questions or concerns.  I look forward to meeting you this school year and am excited to work hand in hand with you for an amazing school year filled with joy, accomplishments, and success!
